Sandals and Beaches Negril celebrate Jamaica Day with Pell River Primary

Team members from Sandals and Beaches Negril were out to observe the day with the students under the theme ‘Celebrating Jamaica- Building Character: Hearts through the Arts’.

Sandals and Beaches Negril team members were among the many companies and groups that took part in Jamaica Day activities across the island last week, trekking to Pell River Primary School in Hanover.

The day, observed under the theme Celebrating Jamaica- Building Character: Hearts through the Arts’, saw the hotel workers bringing with them prizes for the winners of various competitions such as Visual Arts, Dancing, Jingles, Debate, among others.

Students were quizzed on fun facts and Jamaican history and were engaged in different activities including, ring games and a fashion show.

In keeping with the days focus on local art forms, students were challenged with creating art pieces that showcased how Jamaica excelled in the arts.

Jamaican delicacies were also a huge part of the day’s celebration, as parents and teachers brought potato pudding, cornmeal pudding, coconut drops and other sweet treats to bring Jamaican feeling alive to the students.
