West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor struck an unbeaten century and Chedean Nation, a maiden half-century to propel West Indies Women to a six-wicket victory over Pakistan Women on Sunday (November 14).

Taylor scored 102 and Nation 51 as the West Indies completed a series sweep over the hosts in preparation for the ICC World Cup qualifiers that begin in Zimbabwe later this month.

Pakistan were sent in to bat and posted a competitive total of 225-7 with Muneeba Ali scoring 58 and Aliya Riaz, 44 not out. Ali and Ayesha Zafar had enjoyed an opening stand of 49 that was broken when Zafar was caught and bowled by Aaliyah Alleyne for 13.

Ali and Javeria Khan then mounted a second-wicket stand of 74 but it took them 20 overs to do so as the West Indies bowling restricted scoring to under four runs an over. Ali would eventually fall to Taylor with the score at 123.

Pakistan then lost a couple of quick wickets as Khan was run out 13 and then Alleyne bowled Omaima Sohail for 27 to have Pakistan at 131-3 in the 31st over.

However, Iram Javed and Aliya Riaz put on 44-run for the fifth wicket, a stand that was eventually broken when Javed was dismissed by Shakera Selman for 26.

Riaz would eventually get Pakistan Women past 200 with her unbeaten 44 that helped set up a decent total for the West Indies Women to chase.

Selman took the wicket of Fatima Sana for nine to end with figures of 2-40 while Alleyne ended with 2-41.

The West Indies got off to a poor start losing the wickets of Deandra Dottin for four, Shemaine Campbelle for one and Rashada Williams for six, to be in early trouble at 15-3.

However, Taylor would come to their rescue, sharing in an 83-run fourth-wicket partnership with Hayley Matthews, who made 49. Taylor then mounted the match-winning unbroken partnership of 128 with Chedean Nation, who scored 51 not out, her maiden ODI half-century.

Taylor faced 117 balls for her score that included 12 fours while Nation struck seven boundaries facing 67 balls during the match-winning stand.

Anam Amin finished with 2-45 from her 10 overs. Diana Baig, who dismissed Rashada Williams for 6, returned figures of 1-36 from her eight overs.

The West Indies Women will now head off to Zimbabwe where they will face Papua New Guinea in their opening match of the World Cup qualifiers on November 21, at the Sunrise Cricket Club in Harare.
