The Complex, the production house and future creative campus behind Jamaica’s first professional film soundstage, has launched ‘Nyam & Plot’, a new monthly cinematic dining series pairing an audience-voted film with a 5-course tasting menu built to match the movie’s flavours, scenes, and themes course by course.

Chapter I premieres Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Top Strykaz Ultra Lounge & Grill (Consumer Plaza, 99 Constant Spring Rd, Kingston), with the preview reel starting at 6:30 PM and the screening sharp at 7:00 PM. Early-bird presale tickets are sold out; General tickets are available now. Capacity is strictly capped to protect the dining experience. No walk-ins or door sales on the night.

How it works

Guests vote on the featured film, and the winning title shapes every course. Ahead of the screening, a dedicated pre-show reel spotlights 1–3 minute trailers, short films, animations, and other work from Jamaican and Caribbean creators, giving them a platform in front of a room of filmmakers, founders, and film lovers.

Six films are currently on the Chapter I ballot, including Sinners (2025), The Harder They Come (1972), Harlem Nights(1989), Paid in Full (2002), The Great Gatsby (2013), and Romeo Must Die (2000), each paired with its own menu concept.

Voting closes Wednesday, September 9 at 11:59 PM, with the winning film and full menu revealed to ticket holders shortly after.

“Nyam & Plot” was built to give Jamaica a new gathering space for creatives that centres the iconic films we love and food. Simply creating a new way to experience it together,” said Kimberly Rhoden, Founder and Creative Director of The Complex.

“Letting the audience choose the film means the monthly menu is never the same. Each event in the monthly series is a direct response to what people want to watch and consume. And us dedicating our pre-show slot to Caribbean filmmakers and creators means local directors, animators and creatives get a new platform in front of the industry and their peers.
