Tiger Woods is back swinging a golf club, returning to the range for the first time since a car crash six months ago.

The 15-time major champion was seen hitting balls at Liberty National in New Jersey ahead of the Nexus Cup, a charity event raising funds for his TGR Foundation. The 50-year-old also took part in a golf clinic and appeared confident about what he can still produce with a club in his hands. The appearance comes six months after Woods rolled his Land Rover in Florida and was forced to crawl from the vehicle through the passenger door. Earlier this month, he accepted a five year suspension of his driving licence and a US$1,000 fine as part of a plea agreement after not contesting a reckless driving charge.

While his return to the range is an encouraging development, there is still no confirmation that Woods is preparing to return to competitive golf. He has not competed since 2024, with injuries continuing to interrupt his career. Woods ruptured his Achilles tendon in March 2025 and underwent another back operation last October, leaving golf fans waiting to see whether the former world number one will attempt another comeback.
